Another Stake in the Ground

So my daily writing has been demoted to weekly writing—or "whenever I have time" writing. Which is still infinitely better than no writing at all, I guess.

I’ve been beating myself up for not writing daily like I proclaimed so vehemently in my first post, but this week has been particularly intense. The secondary school application deadline hit—and with twins, believe me, that was no easy feat.

Now that hurdle is crossed, I am free—ish.

I’m down to just three active projects running simultaneously:

  • My music: I must finish the track I’m working on and release it to the world. I feel like it’s a hit in the making.

  • My business (Inframe360): Enough procrastinating, enough self-flagellation. Time to launch this thing.

  • My book: This is the biggest and most challenging of the three. There’s no defined end—no single point at which I can just say it’s done. I could potentially keep writing forever and it would still need more tweaks, more depth, more tightening up. Part of the artistic process is knowing when to stop. I’m not sure I have that ability yet; maybe at some point, I will just know.

So this is my second stake in the ground.

Inframe360 will be getting its first clients in the coming weeks. My track will be finished and released to the world (at least to the world of TikTok). My book—well, that will have been worked on to some degree over the next two weeks, even if it’s just reading and planning what I will write.

Although that really doesn’t satisfy my thirst to get this thing done. I was so happy when I wrote the first draft in around seven months, naive in thinking I was done. The second round is where the mountain seems to have grown. The source I tapped into for that initial creative flow appears to have closed—or at least shrunk to a small glimmer of light that I’m desperately trying to keep as glowing embers.

I must, and I will, finish this story.

This is non-negotiable.
